The Simsbury Celebrates Gingerbread House Competition is back for 2026! Space is limited so only the first 30 entries are guaranteed acceptance. Late entries will be admitted as space permits. The registration deadline is Tuesday, November 17, 2026. Registrations must be completed online. If you have any trouble registering online, please call 860-658-3836.
Register by 10/1 and save $5! Entry cost will increase to $15 on 10/2.
The theme for the 2026 Gingerbread House Competition celebrates America's 250th by encouraging creations of "Historical Significance". Entries incorporating this theme will receive special recognition. Following the theme is encouraged, but not required, for the competition. Gingerbread creations do not have to be holiday related.
CATEGORIES AND PRIZES
The Simsbury Celebrates Gingerbread House Committee will award a prize to all first-place winners in the competitive categories. In the case of a group entry, the prize will be awarded to the lead team member on the entry form.
Prizes include gift cards to local restaurants and businesses, TBA soon!
Masters - bakers, chefs, caterers, artists, etc.; may include one or more individuals
Adults – Entrants age 16 and older; may include one or more individuals
Youth – Entrants age 15 and under; may include one or more individuals
Mixed Groups – Groups comprised of both youth and adults; may include two or more individuals
Display Only – any individual or group entering the competition that does not wish to compete for a prize
Completed gingerbread houses must be delivered to the Simsbury Free Library (749 Hopmeadow St.) on Sunday, November 22, 2026 between 11:00 AM -12:30 PM. Gingerbread houses will be displayed for a week and then must by picked up during open hours the week after the event. Any entries left after 1 PM on Sunday December 6 will be disposed of or donated.
