COVID 19 UPDATE
Our staff has been working diligently with local and state health officials to devise a plan that will allow us to safely open our rink facility this season for you, your family and our employees. This comprehensive plan will include thorough and frequent cleanings of the facility, a plan ahead reservation process for public skate sessions and a reduction in the capacity of our facilities to ensure enough room for safe social distancing. These protocols will continue to be updated if warranted.

*NEW THIS YEAR – Register for the day (Wed. or Thur) that you are interested in and not by level. You will be asked to list the anticipated level of your child to help us in class level placement.
*Rental skates are free, but you must reserve the rental skates at the time of registration. To reduce contact, you need to know the correct size skate that your child will need, when you register.
*All guests (2 years and older) are required to wear face coverings at all times, including the students in the class
AT SIMSBURY FARMS ICE RINK:
*All skaters are encouraged to come to the rink fully dressed to skate. Dress warmly including gloves and helmets.
*Please do not bring other children to the rink if they are not taking part in a class, if possible.
*Rental skates must be reserved in advance and will be set out in our skate rental room with the skater’s name. Once you are finished with class, please leave the skates where you picked them up and a member of our staff will be able to clean them and put them back.
*All guests (2 years and older) are required to wear face coverings at all times, including the students in the class. Our instructors and building staff will be wearing masks for your safety.
*All parents must stay in the designated areas –socially distanced while classes are in session. Please do not congregate by the entry or exit doors, or in the downstair lobby during lesson time.
ON THE ICE:
*Only skaters who are scheduled to be on the ice for their lesson may be on the ice during class and practice time. Due to distancing requirements, we cannot offer free skate to family members.
*Skaters will be lined up by class level and instructor before taking the ice. We will be using only one door (the main door) to enter the ice. This door will be marked Enter Only. The door on the west side of the rink will be the Exit Only door and will be marked as such.
*Please be ON TIME! We ask that skaters arrive approximately 15 minutes before the start of class (but not earlier) to get skates on and get ready. Arriving late disrupts the entire class, especially when we have to work within the parameters of the current safety measures.
*Skaters are permitted to exit the ice to use the restrooms, if necessary, during class. A parent or guardian needs to be available to escort them to and from, but please refrain from congregating in the downstairs lobby, per facility rules.
