Field Hockey Camp

Come learn the great game of field hockey with our summer Field Hockey Camp! Camp will be for girls entering grades 3-8 in the Fall of 2025; beginners to experienced players, all levels welcome. Participants should bring their own stick, mouth guard, shin guards, eye gear and plenty of water! Sneakers or cleats are required for this program. This camp will be run by Simsbury High School coaches and current/past players.

NEW LOCATION:
The Ethel Walker School (230 Bushy Hill Rd, Simsbury, CT 06070). Camp will be held on the turf field, which is located off of Sand Hill Road (the turf parking lot is located across from 98 Sand Hill Rd).

What to Bring:

- Stick, mouth guard, shin guards, eye gear
- Sneakers or cleats
- Plenty of water
- A snack

Stick Info:

A defensive player or midfielder may prefer a longer stick in order to drive the ball further, and an offensive player might select a shorter stick for better handling and control. Sticks can range from 28” – 37.5” or more. Typically, the stick should come up to the top of your hip bone.

Rules, Behavior, and Discipline Policy
Participants will be responsible for following ALL program rules as listed below:
*Participants must be respectful to other participants, staff, and facilities and equipment at all times.
*Participants must remain in designated program areas at all times unless escorted by an instructor.
*Participants must stay with their instructor at all times.
*Participants must use appropriate language with other participants and staff at all times.
*Participants are only permitted to leave the program when they are signed out by a parent/guardian or other
authorized person.

All children are expected to behave in a proper and respectful manner. We will not tolerate any physical violence, name calling, foul language, destruction of property, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the staff. In accordance with the severity and frequency of the behavior, a behavior tracking form may be completed and kept on file. Parents will be notified and receive a copy of any such form. If warranted, the Recreation Department reserves the right to dismiss or suspend any child from the program. No refunds will be given.
