Mountain Bike Skills Clinic for Women

If you're someone who is proficient at riding a bike, you have a decent level of fitness, and you want to learn how to mountain bike on technical trails through the woods, this clinic is for you. First up, you'll build the foundation from which every mountain biking skill originates. Body positioning is key here in helping to develop skills like navigating single track and braking quickly without skidding or going over the bars (a.k.a. an "endo"). You'll learn climbing and descending techniques and how to pick the best lines in technical terrain. You'll also build confidence and find you won't have to get off your bike to walk around so many obstacles because you'll learn how to maneuver around and over things like roots, rocks and logs. Taking this course will help you ride much safer and have more fun on your bike!

Clinic will be held on June 1 & 2 from 11:00am-2:00pm. Rain date will be June 3. Five participants required to hold the clinic. Cost is $179/person for the six hours of instruction over two days. Meet at Town Forest Park, in the parking lot near the pavilion.

See ya on the trails!

Coach Margie

Mountain bike
(hard tail or full suspension) in good working condition.

Platform pedals that are specifically for mountain bike or BMX riding. These pedals are typically about 4" square with many "pins" on either side for grip. They are typically NOT the pedals that came with your bike when purchased new. A flat shoe with a hard rubber sole (not a running shoe) works best with these pedals. The less tread on the shoes the better.

Helmet that fits snuggly to your head.

Water bottles that fit your bottle cage or a hydration pack, and a snack.

Knee/shin guards, elbow pads, gloves and glasses are recommended.

Location - Town Forest Park
