Art-ventures with Penguins and Polar Bears
Embark upon a journey through the Arctic and Antarctic regions to learn about the captivating lives of penguins, polar bears, and other cold-weather creatures. In this fun, art-packed series, art explorers—equipped with a myriad of unique materials, tools, and techniques—set out on an adventure across frozen tundra to discover life in and around the icy waters of the earth's Poles. Sculpt clay polar bears and penguin reliefs. Build sand castle lighthouses and create shimmery sea jellies out of recycled materials. Paint sharks or fish on stretched canvases. Design hats as colorful as the Northern Lights, make gyotaku fish print aprons, and transform plain t-shirts into oceans teeming with creatures. Explore the art of decoupage, collage, stained glass and so much more while learning fun facts about endangered creatures and the importance of being kind to our earth and oceans. Don't miss the Art-rageous fun!

This program will not be held on Tuesday, Sept. 28 or Nov. 2

Art-ventures - Spread Your Wings and Roar!!!
This all new art-rageous program is truly like a trip to the zoo. Design Stuffed Teddy Bears, create Owl Paintings on canvas, and sculpt Clay Peacocks with zany feathers. Color real Rubber Duckies, paint Ceramic Bunny Banks, and make Wooden Animal Puzzles in the style of Oaxacan alebrijes. Even travel back in time to paint Dancing Dinosaurs with watercolors. We’ll also pop into the zoo food court to create Mixed Media Sandwich Collages and Pasta Relief Clay Tiles, and visit the photo booth to make Cardboard Mustache Masks and draw Minion Self-Portraits. On the way out, we’ll stop at the gift shop to design Sticker Resist T-shirts, decoupage large Paper Mache Letters, and build wacky Mix-and-Match Character Blocks. Art-explorers experience painting, drawing, sculpting, fabric design, decoupage, collage, and more. A trip to the zoo that you’ll never forget! Art explorers bring home exciting handmade souvenirs each week.
This program will not be held Feb. 22 and March 15.

A note about “art-friendly” clothes…
For the most part, Art-ventures for Kids uses washable paints and other materials. However, some projects require acrylic paint or sharpie markers.

IF YOUR CHILD DOES GET PAINT OR SHARPIE MARKER ON HIS OR HER CLOTHES, DO NOT PUT THE ITEM IN THE WASHER/DRYER! This will cause it to set, making it impossible to remove. Instead but no guarantee, you can use an old cloth to blot or soak it in rubbing alcohol. Do NOT rub in circles.

Thank you!
