Junior Counselor at Camp Stuff-Ta-Doo

Junior Counselor applications are now closed for the 2026 camp season!
Is your child going to be age 14-15 (by June 1) this summer and looking for a new challenge?  Do they enjoy working with kids?  Do you they enjoy being outdoors? Consider applying to be a junior counselor!
Junior Counselors shadow our Camp Stuff-ta-Doo Camp Counselors gain leadership skills and volunteer experience. 
Junior Counselors are volunteers. The program is free.
Junior Counselors are not guaranteed a future paid position with Simsbury Rec.

Why Be a Junior Counselor?
Gain a behind-the-scenes experience of the camp community.
• Establish job and character references.
• Personal growth and expanded self-esteem through leadership opportunities.
• Ability to work with children and adults in a camp community.

Eligibility:
• Must be between the ages of 14-15 during the summer of 2026 by June 1, 2025.
• Must be energetic, motivated and willing to work with young children.
• Must have completed form/application.
• Must be committed to volunteer at least 6 weeks of Day Camp

Junior Counselor Application Steps:
1) Fill out the online application form here. Please be prepared to provide two references we can contact.
2) We will reach out to schedule an interview.
3) Once we have determined the applicant's interest in becoming a junior counselor, a registration link will be sent to complete the junior counselor registration (emergency contact info & waiver).
