Tennis and Golf Camp at Simsbury Farms
Campers aged 7-14 years will have fun while sharpening their golf and tennis skills during this 4 day camp! With our team of experienced instructors, campers will have a blast while enjoying the best of Simsbury Farms.
Campers should bring their own equipment if they have it. Equipment will be provided for those who do not have their own.
Week 1: 6/24-6/27
Week 2: 7/22-7/25
Camp Schedule: Monday-Thursday
(Friday will be held as a rain date in case of inclement weather)
9 AM: Camp Sign-in
9:15 AM- 10:30 AM: Golf or Tennis
10:30 AM-10:45 AM: Snack & Switch
10:45 AM-12 PM: Golf or Tennis
12 PM: Pick-up
Behavior Policy
Rules, Behavior, and Discipline Policy
Participants will be responsible for following ALL program rules as listed below:
*Participants must be respectful to other participants, staff, and facilities and equipment at all times.
*Participants must remain in designated program areas at all times unless escorted by an instructor.
*Participants must stay with their instructor at all times.
*Participants must use appropriate language with other participants and staff at all times.
*Participants are only permitted to leave the program when they are signed out by a parent/guardian or other
authorized person.
All children are expected to behave in a proper and respectful manner. We will not tolerate any physical violence, name calling, foul language, destruction of property, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the staff. In accordance with the severity and frequency of the behavior, a behavior tracking form may be completed and kept on file. Parents will be notified and receive a copy of any such form. If warranted, the Recreation Department reserves the right to dismiss or suspend any child from the program. No refunds will be given.
About the Instructors
Tennis: Tyler Gibson
A tennis scholarship brought Tyler to the University of Hartford in 1992, where he was a player, assistant coach and Head coach. He has worked in Maryland at Chevy Chase Country Club and then Head Pro at Bethesda Country Club. He has called Simsmore Tennis/Racquets for Life home since 2002. Tyler will bring his passion and experience in the game with over 40 years of experience to Simsbury Farms this summer. Tyler believes in teaching all 8 shots of the game along with solid footwork and a strategic sense of singles and doubles. Come out and enjoy the game with him this summer!
Golf: Marc Fischer
With more than 25 years of experience at Simsbury Farms teaching the game of golf, Marc has helped hundreds of people improve their game and continues to play a role in the Junior and Special Olympics programs at the course.
