SWIMPOSSIBLE - Sensory-Friendly Swim Lessons

These lessons are designed for those who are not served successfully by traditional group lessons, such as those with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other sensory sensitivities. The lessons will focus on water safety, mobility, comfort in and around the water with safe, calming, and fun lessons that are customized for students who need a personalized/small group approach - adapted to their needs for learning how to swim. The lessons are non-leveled and customized to the needs of each student.

The five-week lessons will be held at Memorial Pool as a standalone program at the facility, to create a sensory-friendly environment. Each swimmer must be accompanied in the water by a parent, guardian or designated adult helper, who is comfortable in the water, to ensure maximum safety. 

Class times will have a maximum of 9 students with a 3 to 1 student/teacher ratio.
