About the Instructors
Jennifer Porter
As an active practitioner since 2007, Jenn has had the privilege to study under many teachers, including in the areas of yoga, meditation, and herbal and nutritional health wisdom. She became Yoga Alliance certified in 2023 through Journey of Yoga, while carrying a pregnancy to term. She is passionate and committed to helping people modify and access yoga, after experiencing what it was like to practice with significant physical limitations. She believes strongly that yoga is for every-body and all walks of life.
Learning not only the physical asanas, but also the history and philosophy, has been integral to her journey. After going through years of struggling with mental health in a fast paced modern world, yoga played a huge role in learning to slow down and de-stress on and off the mat. By practicing yoga and meditation regularly, she believes the practice helps people align themselves in other arenas of their lives as well. She loves to spread the love of yoga with all.

Lesley Stephen
Lesley attended her first yoga class in 1983 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and then practiced in various studios, church basements, and bedrooms along the way. She found her way to Journey of Yoga in 2015, reconnecting with Maggie and completing her 200-hour yoga teacher certification in 2016.
Lesley strives to create yoga classes that are safe, informative, and fun. She incorporates anatomy, yogic philosophy, and wisdom. Lesley infuses lightness into her classes and hopes to make yoga more accessible to those who need it most.
She feels privileged to belong to such a supportive Sangha. Lesley is eternally grateful to all of her teachers as she continues on her Yoga journey. As a Registered Nurse, she works full time in an intense nursing field, and uses yoga to bring balance, calm, and joy into her life and the lives of others.
