Acting Classes

The acting classes run for seven weeks, meeting once a week. Throughout the sessions, participants engage in a variety of activities, including exciting theatre games, improvisational exercises, and learning acting terminology. The classes also focus on concentration exercises, voice and speech training, sense memory, subtext, stage skills, and script work. These classes are designed for beginners while also providing new and engaging challenges for more experienced performers. Fridays

(3/13 make-up date if needed)

4:15–5:00 PM: K–1
5:05–6:00 PM: Grades 2–4
6:05–7:00 PM: Grades 5–8


About the Instructor: Micheal Lamb

Michael Lamb is a performing arts educator with over 30 years of teaching experience, working with students at every skill level—including performers who have gone on to Broadway as well as television and film. A lifelong performing artist and teacher, he began performing at age eight with the Singing Boys of Long Island, later earning All-Regional and All-State Soloist honors, and studying acting and musical theatre through the Greater Hartford Academy of the Performing Arts and as a Musical Theatre major at Carnegie Mellon University. Michael is the founder of Performing Arts Programs (est. 1997), providing year-round acting, musical theatre, and dance training to thousands of young people in a positive, fun, safe, and affirming environment where students can explore, grow, and thrive.
