Food Explorers - The ones held on Columbus Day

Join Katie, Registered Dietician from Food Explorers to make some yummy food this Columbus Day! Students will go home with new recipes, new skills, and new knowledge about the food that they eat.

The morning session
Join Food Explorers for a half-day cooking camp! You’ll make your own snack and lunch while learning all about food, playing games and exploring nutrition with a nutritionist. You’ll be making Guacamole Grilled Cheese with Fries and No-Bake Orange Creamsicle Cheesecake Cups. Each child will make their own portion, and all recipes are nut free but may contain dairy and eggs.
 
The afternoon session
Join Food Explorers for a half-day cooking camp! You’ll make your own snack and lunch while learning all about food, playing games and exploring nutrition with a nutritionist. You’ll be making Broccoli Cheese Quesadillas and Avocado Fries. Each child will make their own portion, and all recipes are nut free but may contain dairy and eggs.

COVID-19 Safety Precautions for this program:

Food Explorers is committed to provide a safe and fun environment for your child. Here are the precautions we are taking for in-person programming:
 
Safety precautions:




  • Child pick-up/drop off will take place outside - parents are encouraged to stay in the car.


  • Instructor will be wearing a face covering


  • Children are required to wear face coverings except when eating


  • Eating dinner and/or snack will take place outside (weather dependent)


  • Children are making their own meals and snacks


  • Food safety gloves will be worn whenever food is being touched


  • All equipment is being thoroughly cleaned and surfaces will be wiped frequently


  • Children will be seated 6 feet apart whenever possible
