Teenagers film with a green screen
Our filmmaking summer program offers tweens & teens an immersive and intensive filmmaking experience. Students will journey through the entire filmmaking process and create a film from start to finish. Students will learn the mechanics of filmmaking and how to work as part of a team.
Each session students will be introduced to new concepts and steps in the filmmaking process. They will see a short film evolve from the earliest stages of idea brainstorming through the entire production process. Students will have the opportunity to try out every role as well, learning how to create a screenplay, organize and direct a production, run camera, lighting and sound equipment and edit video and sound.
Students will film around downtown Simsbury.

Location: Simsbury Public Library
Campers should meet instructor, Marc, at the lower level childrens department entrance.

About the Instructor: Marc Bonaguide
I studied both sociology and filmmaking at Boston College and have taught filmmaking to students in a school setting for fifteen years. I have been excited to incorporate filmmaking into my private practice in Canton and offer a number of different formats and programs. I have always found film, and the filmmaking process, to be an engaging, powerful (and fun) tool to help students explore their creativity, build self-confidence and learn important problem-solving and communication skills. My programs offer a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn the filmmaking process.
