Join instructor Brittany Locke for a season of Baton Twirling and Pom Dance!

Fall Schedule: 9/18-11/13 (no class on 10/2)

Introduction to Baton Twirling & Pom (Grades 1-4)
5:00-5:30 PM

Designed for both learning and fun, our class is filled with high-energy baton twirling & pom dance that will have your child grinning ear to ear. Participants will learn moves and techniques in both disciplines and incorporate them into fun and showstopping routines! Build coordination - Boost Confidence- Have a blast! Returning & New Students Welcome! 

Baton Twirling & Pom Level 2 (Grades 3-6)
5:30-6:15 PM

This class is designed for students who have already taken the Intro level class and are looking to expand their skills. The class will dive deeper into specific skills, multi-baton, routines, and more. A great way to continue with the sport while having fun and building confidence. Students must have taken at least 1 session with the instructor previously. 

Students should wear fitted clothing that's comfortable to move in with hair pulled back from their face.
Sneakers or jazz shoes should be worn. No open toe or open back shoes, crocs, etc. Please bring a water bottle.


Classes will be held at HJMS. Please enter the gym by parking in the back parking lot and entering the doors by the courtyard area.

About the Instructor: Brittany Locke
Brittany Locke has taught dance and baton for over 15 years in both Massachusetts and Connecticut. She also is one of the coaches of the National Champion Academy Starz Dance Twirl Team. She has danced and twirled since she could walk and continued to do so in high school and college, at both Deerfield Academy and Brown University. Now, in addition to being an attorney and arts administrator, she has the ability to introduce and share her love for dance and baton with younger generations through programs like this

Rules, Behavior, and Discipline Policy
Participants will be responsible for following ALL program rules as listed below:
*Participants must be respectful to other participants, staff, and facilities and equipment at all times.
*Participants must remain in designated program areas at all times unless escorted by an instructor.
*Participants must stay with their instructor at all times.
*Participants must use appropriate language with other participants and staff at all times.
*Participants are only permitted to leave the program when they are signed out by a parent/guardian or other
authorized person.

All children are expected to behave in a proper and respectful manner. We will not tolerate any physical violence, name calling, foul language, destruction of property, or any other behavior deemed inappropriate by the staff. In accordance with the severity and frequency of the behavior, a behavior tracking form may be completed and kept on file. Parents will be notified and receive a copy of any such form. If warranted, the Recreation Department reserves the right to dismiss or suspend any child from the program. No refunds will be given.
