Two students use film cameras while 3 students act out a scene
In this week-long program children aged 7-10 will learn how a movie is made from its initial inception through production and then editing.  Each child will have the opportunity to experience every role in the filmmaking process and will put the skills they have learned to work in producing their own one-scene short film.  Children will work collaboratively with their peers in assisting with the production of each short-film and rotate through the various roles involved in the filmmaking process.  The project will end with a red-carpet premier to showcase each of the short-films for family and friends to enjoy.  The program is an excellent way for children to learn the filmmaking process and develop technical skills while also learning and practicing important social skills as well.

Students will film around the Apple Barn and Simsbury Farms.

About the Instructor: Marc Bonaguide
I studied both sociology and filmmaking at Boston College and have taught filmmaking to students in a school setting for fifteen years. I have been excited to incorporate filmmaking into my private practice in Canton and offer a number of different formats and programs. I have always found film, and the filmmaking process, to be an engaging, powerful (and fun) tool to help students explore their creativity, build self-confidence and learn important problem-solving and communication skills. My programs offer a supportive and inclusive environment for students of all backgrounds and abilities to learn the filmmaking process.
